Q:
What is FreightNow?
A: FreightNow provides online freight
services in real time service where transporters
search for freight (e.g. for a back load)
and freight forwarders offer freight to
be transported.
For example, Tim, a freight transporter
has an order to transport 20 pallets of
dog food from Sydney to South Australia
but his freight order for the return trip
only fills a half load and he is looking
to fill the rest of his truck. He can simply
log onto www.freightnow.com.au and find
the load that meets his requirements.
Or this scenario Joe, however, is in the
reverse situation. He has goods to move
but no available truck. What's the solution?
Joe posts the offer on our system and the
offer is automatically viewed by a national
network of transport companies who access
the site each day looking for new jobs.
The FreightNow system simply puts
companies in touch with each other to do
smarter more effective business.
Members can ask questions about shipments,
make offers, view company profiles and leave
feedback, rating each others service.
Senders then view this information and
can ask carriers additional questions before
accepting or declining offers.
Our members not only pick up extra work
but also get full access to our site including
journey information. They can request maps,
detailed manifests, proof of delivery, calculate
running costs etc.
Most drivers are on the road so we have
developed an instant SMS and email notification
system. You don't necessarily need a computer
to access the service you can also phone
our customer service desk to find loads.
Q: How does this improve
the current method?
A: Our system offer transparency and convenience,
you can see who has your freight which is
very important with the new chain or responsibility
laws. Poof of delivery is also important
our system generates POD's at the click
of a button and best of all its online so
you can log in from any computer any time
and access information.
Q: What does it cost?
A: It's free to join and become a member.
It's also free to consign freight. The transporter
pays $10.00 for each allocated consignment.
If you provide express freight services
or freight forwarding services we join you
together to smarter business.
Q: Is there anything else
like this?
A: In the US and in Europe companies are
offering up numerous online freight shipping
services, others have tried this here but
taken the wrong approach. We don't want
to create a reverse auction we want to provide
new opportunities for transport companies
through information exchange.
